Memory diagnosis remains at 21 percent
If the memory diagnosis gets stuck at 21 percent under Windows, you do not have to worry. We'll show you how to fix it.
Main memory diagnosis remains
- Wait: Like so much under Windows, the memory diagnostics do not run smoothly on the outside. Even if it seems that the diagnosis remains, it continues to work. Just be patient for a few minutes. A normal scan can take up to 30 minutes in some cases.
- Options: Press the "F1" key to access the options. Here you can choose the mode Minimal, Standard and Advanced. Depending on the selection, the process takes a different amount of time.
- Mode: If you select the most demanding "Advanced" mode, the diagnosis with 4 gigabytes of RAM takes around 10 hours. Therefore, choose a suitable mode or bring a little patience.
- Abort: The investigation should not be aborted, even if this does not actually pose any danger.
Alternative: RAM diagnosis with MemTest
- If the memory diagnosis actually stops, you can alternatively use the free MemTest tool.
- Again, the test should take a few hours. The test should run for at least one hour so that the test result reflects the correct status of your working memory.
