RAM: How much RAM do I have?
With many devices, you can no longer simply open the case and see how much RAM or memory you have. In this practical tip, we will show you how to read out your RAM size.
Read RAM in Windows
If you want to see the size under Windows, you only have to start an already installed system program:
- To do this, press the Windows key on your keyboard and type in the start menu search the word "System".
- Start the program of the same name by double-clicking on the result.
- Then you will find the installed memory size under "Installed RAM".
Read out RAM size under MacOS
- In MacOS, click the apple icon in the menu bar at the top left.
- Then select the first item "About this Mac".
- Now a new, small window appears with some information. Here the built-in RAM size appears under the item "Memory".
