Arduino: flash the bootloader again - how it works
Sometimes it happens that the Arduino's boot loader gets shot up. Then you have to flash it again. You can find out exactly how this works in this practical tip.
Arduino: flash the bootloader again - how it works
To re-flash the boot loader of an Arduino, you need a second Arduino. We use an Arduino Uno for this in our example. Connect this as shown in the picture.
- Click on "Tools" in the Arduino IDE and select "Arduino as ISP" as the programmer.
- Now go to "File"> "Examples"> "Arduino ISP" and click on "Arduino ISP".
- Note: You may have to adapt some parameters to your board here. Upload this sketch to the Arduino, which will act as a programmer.
- Finally switch back to the board type you want to program and click on "Burn Bootloader" under "Tools".
- The boot loader on the first Arduino was then flashed again.
