Ark Survival Evolved jerky: How to improve FPS

The ARK: Survival Evolved survival game often stutters on fast computers. This is not least due to the fact that the game is still an alpha version. With some settings, you can still get some additional FPS out of the game.
With these settings, ARK: Survival Evolved is less jerky
In the game options you will find the graphics settings of ARK: Survival Evolved. Here you should unscrew some details:
- Post Processing: Here you can change post-processing. A high value is not absolutely necessary to make the game look nice, but it requires a high computing power.
- Anti-aliasing: As in most games, anti-aliasing eats a lot of FPS. Set the value to "Medium" at the most, at higher settings there is almost no visual difference.
- View-Distance: You can also reduce the range of vision in the game. You will notice a significant performance boost, especially on weak PCs. It is best to play with the control until you have found a good balance between speed and visibility.
- Motion Blur: You should deactivate this option. Motion blur makes the image blurry when you move your character quickly or look around. However, this effect requires a high level of performance, especially in the first ARK versions.
- Shadows: You can also reduce the shadows. The shadows in the distance are not particularly noticeable anyway.
- Sky details: The performance can also be improved with the quality of the sky. The gameplay mainly takes place on the ground anyway. So turn the slider down as far as you can play with the weaker sky textures.
- Resolution: You should lower the resolution as a last resort. Although this brings significantly more FPS, there is almost nothing left of ARK's graphic splendor.

If the tips above don't help, you can further customize the game. At the latest with this, the game should run smoothly on medium computers.
- You can set the following start parameters in Steam by right-clicking on the game and selecting the "Properties". Then click on "Set start options ..." and enter the following codes:
- "-SM4": The game runs with the Shader models from DirectX 10 instead of DirectX 11. This brings a decent performance boost - especially with older graphics cards.
- "-nomansky": The command removes all sky effects such as clouds or weather effects. The latter are not yet integrated into the game anyway, so the graphics losses remain within limits.
- "-USEALLAVAILABLECORES": This way your CPU cores are used more evenly and can do more. Use this parameter if you have a processor with multiple cores.
- "-d3d10": You should test this option last. The game is completely changed from DirectX 11 to DirectX 10. This can improve performance in some cases, but also worsen in others.
- Owners of NVIDIA graphics cards can also use the "NVIDIA Control Panel" or the "NVIDIA Control Panel" to knock out more FPS. To do this, click on "Manage 3D settings" in the respective tool and under "Power management mode" set the setting from "Adaptive" to "Prefer maximum performance".
- If one of the start parameters should fail or fail, you can simply remove it from the start options in Steam. The game then starts again with the corresponding default settings.
