We have put together the best tips for a successful hunt in Assassins Creed 3 for you here.
Tip 1: Hunting areas in Assasinscreed
The area is divided into hunting areas outside the national border. You can see these areas in the hunting area (found in the map menu). There are 4 different animal species lurking in each region. Initially, these are marked with a question mark in the hunting menu, but they become visible when you have found clues or killed the animal. Below is an overview of the hunting regions:
- Black Creek: lynx, wapiti, rabbit, beaver
- Concord: raccoon, rabbit, deer, beaver
- Davenport settlement: wapiti, deer, fox, beaver, puma, raccoon, wolf, hare
- Diamond Basin: deer, wolf, puma, beaver
- Great Piece Hills: lynx, hare, wolf, wapiti
- John's Town: bear, fox, wapiti, rabbit
- Kanièn: keh: fox, deer, rabbit, puma
- Lexington: rabbit, raccoon, deer, fox
- Monmouth: rabbit, raccoon, wapiti, fox
- Packanack: bear, lynx, rabbit, beaver
- Scotch Plains: Puma, raccoon, deer, rabbit
- Troy's Wood: wolf, deer, wapiti, rabbit
- Valley Forge: rabbit, raccoon, beaver, wapiti
Tip 2: search for clues
When hunting in an area, the first thing to look for is traces. The eagle sense makes it easier to recognize traces. When the trace analysis is complete, you can see the animal on the minimap and quickly locate it.
Tip 3: the way of killing
How you hunt an animal while hunting depends on its size and aggressiveness. Below is a list of ways you can most effectively kill the different animals.
- Laying out prey: Laying out prey near a bush or tree, you can attract animals of any size while hiding. As soon as the animals have come close enough and you have looked for a suitable lurking position, killing them is only a minor matter.
- Set up snare traps: catch smaller animals with snare traps. These are particularly effective if you place them near tracks. In addition, you make the loop traps even more attractive with prey. You will be notified as soon as an animal has been trapped. Collect your prey as quickly as possible, otherwise the animals could escape or be stolen.
- Make the right weapon selection: The weapon you chose to kill the prey affects the quality of the fur. You should always collect furs and skins so that you can sell them later. To get a reasonable price for it, you should be careful when shooting. Gun shots and barbed arrows in particular significantly reduce the value of the fur. To keep the damage as low as possible, it is best to use normal arrows and the blade.
- Select the type of confrontation: Most of the time you hear growls when there are aggressive animals nearby. Then you can decide whether to face the animal directly in slow motion or go to the nearest tree to attack it with arrows.
