Astra reception disturbed - you can do that
If you have installed a satellite dish, you can get your programs via Astra. However, reception can sometimes be disturbed here. In this practical tip, we show what you can then do.
Astra: TV reception disrupted - what to do?
You can usually restore reception to your TV with the following tips:
- You may not be able to receive stations if a storm is sweeping over your location. The signal can be blocked by thick storm clouds. Here you have to be patient until the sky clears up.
- The signal can also be disturbed by another signal. Radiotelephones in particular are bad for television reception. Therefore, place these devices a little further away.
- If, on the other hand, only one transmitter fails, this indicates an interference from the radio mast. In this case, there is unfortunately nothing you can do.
- The Astra satellite signal may also be disturbed. Here, however, it often only takes a few hours for the problem to be over.
- To avoid further interference, you should check the cables and especially the satellite dish regularly.
- Cables must not show any breakage or other damage. You should replace defective components immediately.
- So that the plugs do not get wet, you can wrap them with plastic bags.
- Often it can also help if you raise the bowl a little higher and thus expand the reception area.
