If "unknown device ATK0110" appears in the device manager of your ASUS PC with yellow question marks, you must install the mainboard drivers. In this practical tip, we explain how to do this correctly.
ASUS hardware ATK0110: Install mainboard driver correctly
- "ATK" stands for "AsusTek", and behind the device "ATK0110" is a proprietary ACPI utility. This provides special extensions for Asus tools for energy and performance management of the motherboard - such as the AIBooster, with which the system can be overclocked.
- The corresponding driver can be found on the installation CD of your board or - in the current version - on the ASUS support pages.
- Enter the type designation of your motherboard in the search field - for example P5B. A page with your board will appear at the top. Now click on the field of the corresponding download and on the following page on the Utilities tab.
- The following list contains a download with the description ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device. You have to download, unzip and install this driver from the device manager.
- This not only removes the yellow question mark. The driver also enables ASUS tweaking tools to have direct access to the board's power saving and overclocking mechanisms.
