Ataribox VCS: This is what the abbreviation stands for
So far, the new console from Atari was called Ataribox. Now it bears the mysterious abbreviation VCS. We'll tell you what the three letters stand for here.
Ataribox VCS - that is the abbreviation
- It is already known that the Atari VCS will be equipped with the Linux operating system and an AMD processor.
- Atari opted entirely for the retro look of the VCS console. Those responsible probably hope to build on the great success of over 40 years ago with the Atari VCS retro console.
- At the end of 1977, Atari launched the successful "Atari Video Computer System", which had sold millions of copies.
- In keeping with the retro look, the name of the new Atari console VCS also refers to the extremely successful predecessor. Atari VCS is nothing more than the abbreviation for Atari Video Computer System. Atari therefore relies on retro right down to the smallest detail.
- As Atari said, the retro gaming console is not in competition with the Xbox One X or the PlayStation 4 Pro. The Atari VCS is said to have less power and is probably more for nostalgics and not quite as performance-hungry games.
If you'd rather get full power, you'd better choose the Xbox One X or the Playstation 4 Pro.
