Audacity: the best shortcuts
Working with Audacity is easier if you master the best shortcuts. We introduce them to you.
The best shortcuts for Audacity
- You can access the complete "Edit" menu of Audacity via [Alt] + [B]
- Jump to the beginning of a sound track with [Home] or [Home1], to the end with [End].
- Use [Ctrl] + [R] to repeat the last used effect.
- Use [Ctrl] + [S] to insert silence.
- The shortcut [R] starts recording. You can pause it with [P] and end the recording with the space bar.
- With [Ctrl] + [SHIFT] and the arrow keys you can decrease a selection, with [SHIFT] and the arrow keys enlarge. The direction of the arrows indicates whether the area is reduced or enlarged to the left or right.
- You can undo unwanted changes immediately with [Ctrl] + [Z].
- With [Ctrl] + [S] you can save all previous changes.
