Audacity no longer works: How to fix most errors
Audacity makes it easy to edit audio files. If Audacity is no longer working, several reasons can be responsible. In this practical tip, we will show you what you can do in this case.
Audacity is no longer working - this is how you solve the problem
- In order for Audacity to work properly, make sure that the correct output source is specified in the "Settings" under "Audio-Out". Incorrect settings at this point may be responsible for Audacity no longer working properly.
- You can delete the settings by entering "regedit" under "Run". Change to the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Audacity" and delete it with [DEL].
- There may also be a problem installing the program. Uninstall the tool completely. We recommend the Revo Uninstaller. Double-click "Audacity" in Revo Uninstaller and select "Advanced" as the method. Then follow the instructions to uninstall the program. In two steps you have to mark the remaining files and folders as well as registry entries and delete them with a click on "Delete" from the PC. Afterwards you can start with the new installation of the program as usual.
- You can also try starting the program as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator".
