Audacity: Add Hall - Here's how
In Audacity you can add reverb to individual audio takes and thus simulate churches or a stadium. We will show you which settings you have to make for this.
How to add reverb with Audacity
- First you have to record something in Audacity or import an audio file. You then have to mark the desired reverb section.
- Then select "Hall" from the "Effect" menu bar. Now various settings open, with which you can configure the reverb according to your wishes.
- You can already load some presets, including "cathedral", "bathroom" or "church hall". These are the best way to find out how the individual parameters such as "room size", "damping" or "reverberation" can change.
- Don't forget to preview your edits and only save them when you are completely satisfied. So you can quickly access your preset again for the next project.
This practical tip is based on Audacity 2.0.5, but the instructions are equivalent to previous versions. You can find more Audacity tips here.
