Audacity: increase volume - how it works
The audio editing program Audacity offers many practical functions, including options to increase the volume. In this guide, we show you exactly how to do this.
Increase volume in Audacity
Fortunately, it only takes a few clicks to increase the volume of a track.
- Simply use the "Envelope Tool". You select the tool using the icon in the menu bar, which is marked with a curve and two triangles
- After you have clicked on the tool, you can click in a track and set any points.
- You can drag these points upwards in the quiet places with the mouse. The higher you draw the dots, the louder the sound at the corresponding points.
- In the same way you can of course make the volume too loud by moving the points down.
- To make larger parts generally louder, you can mark them and increase the volume with "Effects"> "Amplify".
