To cut your music with Audacity, you just need to do the following:
- Download Audacity and install the application.
- Import a music file either using drag-and-drop or choose "File" → "Open". In the opened window, select the audio file you want to import and cut.
- As soon as the file has been imported, the audio tracks appear. Two tracks appear in stereo files.
- You can mark an area with the mouse. If the view is too imprecise, hold down [Ctrl] and turn the mouse wheel.
- At the top of the toolbar you will find a large selection of tools. You can also work with keyboard shortcuts.
- If you want to delete an area, select it and tap on [Delete]. Alternatively, use the scissors tool.
- Copy an area with "Edit" → "Copy" and paste it in another place with "Edit" → "Paste". This works even faster with the key combinations [Ctrl] + [C] for copying and [Ctrl] + [V] for pasting.
