Cut with a keyboard shortcut - this is how it works on Windows and Mac OS
Both under Windows and MacOS you can cut text, files or other elements with a key combination. The other option is to cut out the element using the context menu.
Shortcut text on Mac OS
With the following steps you can cut text with a key combination and insert it again at any place.
- Select the text you want to cut.
- Press the [cmd] + [X] keys on the keyboard.
- The cut text is now on your clipboard.
- Insert the text at any point with [cmd] + [V].
Shortcut files on Mac OS
Cutting files works a little differently than cutting text. Another button is required here.
- Select the file you want to cut.
- Copy them to the clipboard with [cmd] + [C].
- Paste the file anywhere with [cmd] + [alt] + [v]. At that moment it also disappears from the original position.
Cut out with a key combination under Windows
In Windows, the [Ctrl] key replaces the [cmd] key used in Mac OS.
- Here, too, you first have to select the desired text or file.
- Then press the key combination [Ctrl] + [X].
- The element is also saved to the clipboard under Windows.
- Insert the element again at any position with [Ctrl] + [V].
