In the professional drawing program AutoCAD you can have the area measured by a wide variety of polygons. In this guide, we explain how to do this.
Measure area in AutoCAD
With the help of the vector-oriented drawing program AutoCAD from AutoDesk, you can also measure the area of bizarre polygons. Proceed as follows:
- Start AutoCAD and open the drawing in which an area is to be measured.
- If your surface consists of a polyline, you only have to mark it and then you can read the surface in the properties under "Geometry" (see screenshot). Note: The area is given in square meters.
- If the area consists only of individual lines, enter the "Area" command on the keyboard and confirm with [Enter].
- Then define all end points of your polygon and have the area measured with [Enter]. The measured area is highlighted in green and displayed automatically (see screenshot).
