AutoCAD: mirror objects - how it works
In this article, we explain step by step how you can mirror objects using the AutoCAD drawing program.
AutoCAD: How to mirror objects
With the help of the professional drawing program AutoCAD you can produce complex, technical drawings. To work more efficiently, you can simply mirror symmetrical objects. Follow these steps:
- Start AutoCAD and open a new or existing drawing.
- Then draw your desired object.
- Under the "Change" tab you will find a small icon with a mirror axis and a mirrored triangle (see screenshot). Select this option to use the mirror function. Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard to enter the "Mirror" command. Confirm with Enter. Your cursor changes to a square.
- Then use your cursor to select the object you want to mirror. End your selection again with Enter.
- Finally, enter one or two points for the imaginary mirror axis. The preview function shows you the reflection. Click on the drawing area with the left mouse button to confirm the reflection.
- Before the mirroring is displayed, you only have to determine whether the source object should be deleted or kept. This will be asked automatically. Your reflection is finished.
