To automatically forward received emails in Outlook, all you have to do is create a rule. You can specifically define the conditions under which an email should be forwarded.
Set up automatic forwarding in Outlook
To forward emails automatically in Outlook 2013, go through the following step-by-step instructions:
- Go to the "Start" tab.
- Now click on "Rules" at the top of the ribbon.
- Select "Manage rules and notifications ...".
- Select the account to apply the rule to in the upper right.
- Then click on "New rule ..." on the left.
Create rule for automatic forwarding
You set up the forwarding rule as follows:
- Under the "Create Rule Without Template" section, click "Apply Rule To Messages I Receive".
- Now define the criteria under which the message should be forwarded, for example by determining a specific sender or subject. If you simply want to forward all messages, do not select any options here.
- In the next step, mark the option "forward this to a person / public group".
- In the lower window click on the blue text "one person / public group".
- Now select a contact or enter the corresponding email address directly in the lower field "To ->" and confirm with "OK".
- You can then specify which messages you want to exclude from the rule - for example, a particularly important message or emails with certain words in the text.
- In the last step it is advisable to leave the marked options as they are.
- To complete the whole process, click on "Finish". Automatic forwarding is now set up.
