Automatic mail dispatch at Thunderbird - is that possible?
E-mails can be easily sent manually with Thunderbird. Automatic mailing, however, is not easily possible. We'll show you how to do it anyway.
Install the Send Later extension
A simple option for automatic mail delivery at Thunderbird is the extension "Send Later":
- In the Thunderbird menu bar, click on "Tools" and then on "Add-ons".
- At the top right you will see the input field "Search all add-ons". Enter "Send Later" (without quotation marks) and confirm with the Enter key.
- Select the "Send Later" add-on and click "Install". Then restart Thunderbird.
Automatic mail dispatch with the add-on "Send Later" at Thunderbird
By installing the add-on, Thunderbird was expanded to include a function for automatic mail dispatch.
- Open an email that you want to send automatically at a later time.
- Click on "File" in the menu bar and then on "Send Later". A window opens in which you can specify the time for sending the email.
- In the new window, enter the date and time at which the email should be sent automatically. You can also set the mail to be repeated.
- A little further down a button now appears with the indication of the broadcasting time. Press this button to automatically send your email at the specified time. Alternatively, you can delay the mail delivery by 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours.
The email is stored in the "Drafts" folder and sent automatically at the specified time. However, please note that Thunderbird must be open during shipping.
