Automatic Avira update failed: what to do?
It is not uncommon for the update from Avira to be reported as failed. This can have different causes. You are not to blame for most of them.
Avira overloaded update servers
- Especially when a new version of the anti-virus program appears, many computers have to carry out a complete update of the virus protection. This can lead to enormous waiting times and greatly slowed download rates.
- Here it is advisable to wait a few hours and try again later. If you don't want to do this, the next paragraph tells you how to insert an update manually.
Import Avira update manually
- To do this, download the "Avira Fusebundle Generator".
- Create a new folder on your desktop, open the ZIP file and save the files it contains in the empty folder.
- Now open the "fusebundle.exe" file. A black window opens in which the update files are now downloaded. This can take two to ten minutes.
- When the process is complete, the window closes automatically. Now open Avira.
- Above you see the item "Update", under which you select the "Manual update".
- Navigate to the newly created folder, open the "install" folder, select the "vdf_fusebundle" file and click the "Open" button.
- The update window opens and the update files are manually imported into Avira. Then the program is up to date.
