Deactivate automatic Fritzbox update - how it works
If you only want to update your FritzBox manually, you must deactivate the automatic update. We'll show you how it's done.
FritzBox: Deactivate automatic update
Your provider can use the automatic update to update the FritzBox with a command. The function may be useful, but give up control of your router to a certain extent.
- Open the fritz.box user interface and log into the FritzBox with your password.
- Click on the "Internet" category in the menu on the left and select "Access data".
- Then switch to the "Provider Services" tab, you will find the "Allow automatic update" option below.
- Remove the check here and click on the "Apply" button. The function is now deactivated.
