If you want to retrofit the Bluetooth function in the car radio, this works quite easily for most models. Our instructions show you exactly how it works.
Retrofit Bluetooth on the car radio
- For the Bluetooth function you need a compatible Bluetooth adapter. This receives the signal from the cell phone and transmits the music to your car radio via an audio cable.
- But please note: Bluetooth can only be retrofitted if your car radio has an audio connection. If this is not the case, you will find further options in the practical tip "Connect cell phone to car radio".
- There are several models on Amazon in different price ranges. The following products have comparatively good reviews:
- KRS Bluetooth adapter for 12 euros
- Belkin Air Cast for 30 euros
- blueLino music receiver for 55 euros
Tip: Have a new car radio installed
In old cars it is often not possible to retrofit Bluetooth on the existing radio. However, you can also retrofit a new radio with Bluetooth function. Read here how to install a car radio. If you don't want to do the installation yourself, Caroobi is a cheap workshop near you.
