Installing and removing the car radio - you have to take that into account
If you don't like the standard radio in your car, you can simply remove it and install a new car radio. We'll show you how it's done and what you have to watch out for.
Removing and installing the car radio: You should know that
Especially in older cars, Bluetooth AUX or a CD player in the car radio are not standard. You can exchange the car radio yourself for relatively little money.
- Before you start the exchange, find out about the conditions in your car. With VW, Opel and Audi, you often have to swap pins 4 and 7 on the ISO power plug, since the ignition and permanent pluses are wrong here.
- Very old cars still have a 150 ohm antenna input according to the German DIN standard. However, car radios now use a 50 ohm input according to international ISO standards. You need a DIN-ISO adapter for this.
- You should disconnect the battery before removing and installing the car radio. This step is particularly important for laypeople.
- In order to remove the cover from the car radio, appropriate unlocking brackets are advantageous. The tool is partly included in the scope of delivery of the new car radio.
- You can find cheap car radios in the price comparison of BestCheck. There you will also find out what you must pay attention to when buying.
