Prevent autostart from Dropbox - how it works
By default, Dropbox runs every time you start it after you install it. We'll show you how to prevent autostart here.
Prevent Dropbox from starting automatically
The easiest way is to deactivate the autostart directly via the Dropbox settings:
- Click the blue Dropbox icon in the notification area, at the bottom right of Windows.
- In the new window, click on the gear and then on "Settings ..." in the top right corner.
- In the area "General"> "System" remove the checkmark in front of "Start Dropbox at system start".
- Then click on the OK button.
This practical tip is based on Dropbox 2.8.3. By the way, with a little trick you can also add Dropbox to the start menu.
