AVG: Installation failed - this may be the reason
If AVG reports that the installation has failed, this can have a variety of causes. We will show you what problems there are during installation and how you can solve them yourself.
First Aid: AVG installation failed
- Restart: Restart Windows first. Many small errors can already be fixed in this way.
- Installation: If other installations or a Windows update are already running, wait until they have been completed or end them.
- Software: If you have installed additional firewalls or anti-virus programs, remove them. Several security programs can block each other.
AVG: Repair damaged installation
If the above steps did not help, you can repair AVG access rights. All you need is a few clicks.
- Open the following link to AVG Reset Access to download the tool directly.
- Close all other running programs and open the file.
- If you click the "Continue" button on the right, your computer will restart and AVG will be repaired.
Installation failed: reinstall AVG
If there is an older version of AVG on your computer or if AVG was only partially installed, it will help to remove this installation.
- Download the AVG Remover and open the file.
- Confirm the security notice and click the "Continue" button on the right.
- Select all AVG products in the list and complete the process.
- Once your computer has restarted, you can reinstall the current version of AVG.
