Avira AntiVir blocks Firefox - what to do?
If Firefox is blocked by Avira AntiVir, the problem usually lies in browser protection. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Avira AntiVir: Deactivate browser protection
In the best case scenario, you can fix the problem by simply deactivating the browser protection.
- Double-click the Avira icon in the lower right of the taskbar. Then the program starts.
- On the right you can see the "Browser protection" function under the "Internet security" category (see picture).
- Slide the slider from "On" to "Off" and restart your computer. If the error is still there, follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Avira AntiVir: Complete new installation
- If the problem persists, you only have to completely uninstall Avira AntiVir. You should also remove the remaining registry entries. You can find detailed instructions for complete deinstallation in this practical tip.
