Avira AntiVir: Connection error - you can do that
In order to use the antivirus program, you have to activate Avira via the Internet. If you receive a connection error, you can often correct it using the Internet settings. Here we show you how to do this.
Avira Antivirus: connection error when activating - what to do?
For security, the software must be activated via the activation server. If a connection error occurs, proceed as follows:
- First switch to the "Control Panel" of your PC.
- Here you have to open the "Internet options" via "Network and Internet".
- Click on the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the bottom.
- Activate the settings "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1" and "Use TLS 1.2". Save with "OK".
- The error should no longer occur when reinstalling.
Other solutions: Avira AntiVir connection error
- This error can also occur if you have installed and activated another anti-virus program or firewall in addition to Avira. Uninstall all firewalls and antivirus tools that run parallel to Avira.
- If you cannot solve the problem in this way, it can also help if you completely uninstall Avira and set it up again.
