Avira Antivirus: Create automatic search request
In the Avira virus scanner, you can create a search request with which you can automatically check your computer for viruses at regular intervals. In this practical tip, we explain how to do it.
Set a new search plan in Avira Antivirus
- Open the main Avira Antivirus window. To do this, double-click the Avira icon in the notification area of your taskbar.
- Then click on the "Planner" entry on the left.
- Select the plus button in the top bar.
- Give the search request a name and insert a suitable description. Then click on "Next".
- Using the dropdown menu, you can now choose whether you want to create a search request or an update request. To have your computer scanned for viruses, select "Scan job". Then click on "Next".
- In the next step, you can use the drop-down menu to decide which areas of your computer should be checked. For optimum security, select "full system check" here. Note, however, that this option also consumes a lot of system resources. Finally click on "Next".
- Now determine the time interval in which your search request should be carried out. To do this, select one of the options "Immediately", "Daily", "Weekly", "Interval" or "Once". Then click on "Next".
- Finally, you have to choose whether Avira should start the search order invisibly, minimized or maximized. Finally click on "Finish".
