Avira: Deactivate browser protection - this is how it works in all browsers
You can deactivate or delete Avira browser protection if you do not need it. We show you how this works in the different browsers.
Google Chrome: Deactivate Avira browser protection
Avira browser protection is an extension for Google Chrome that you can deactivate via add-on management:
- Enter "chrome: // extensions /" in the address line and call the settings with Enter.
- You should find Avira browser protection in the list. Uncheck the "Enabled" option to keep the extension but disable it.
- If you want to delete Avira browser protection, click on the trash can icon and confirm by clicking on "Remove".
Mozilla Firefox: Remove Avira browser protection
You can also deactivate Avira browser protection in Firefox using the add-on management:
- Open Firefox and click the menu button at the top right.
- Select "Add-ons" and click on "Extensions" in the menu on the left.
- You should find Avira browser protection in the list. Click "Disable" to temporarily disable protection or "Remove" to delete the add-on.
