Avira: Deleting files from quarantine - is this safe?
Deleting files infected with Avira from the quarantine is not always safe. We'll tell you what to look out for.
Avira: How to delete files from quarantine?
The quarantine contains files that Avira considers "probably dangerous". Here they are isolated from the system and cannot do any damage.
- Since the files are only "probably dangerous", they can also be benign or even necessary.
- If a file ends up in quarantine, it should remain there for a few days. Nobody harms you here and you can restore them in case of doubt.
- If there are no complications with your PC in the days after the isolation, you can safely delete the file from the quarantine. If problems arise later, you can continue to search whether the file is required by Windows or a program.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to delete quarantine viruses with Avira.
