Avira System Speedup - a quick guide
Avira System Speedup is additional software that can be installed via Avira Antivir. In this quick guide, we explain how to install and activate the Speedup software. We'll also tell you how to set up and start the Speedup software correctly.
Install Avira System Speedup
- Install Antivir first.
- If you have already installed Avira Antivir on your PC, right-click on the small Antivir icon in the task bar at the bottom right. Select "Open Avira".
- Move the mouse over "System Speedup" and click on the "Install" button.
Use Avira System Speedup
To start the Speedup software, right-click on the Avira icon in the task bar and select "Open Avira". Click on the "Open" button under "System Speedup".
- The Speedup software cleans up your PC. It frees him of junk files or unnecessary registry entries.
- Check "Junk Files", "Registry Cleaner", "Privacy Cleaner" and "Smart Defragmenter".
- For safety reasons, you should tick the "Create system restore point" option before each search. If after a Speedup cleaning your PC has problems, you can reset your PC.
- Start the search with "Start search".
- After the search, you can use the gear icon next to the elements found to decide which relevant problems should be resolved. Then click on the "Troubleshoot" button at the top right.
Additional functions of Avira System Speedup
There are additional functions in the Avira System Speedup settings.
- Avira System Speedup has a "task planner". On the Speedup homepage, click on the gear icon at the bottom right under "Task planner settings". At this point you activate the task planner and plan regular searches.
- Below this you will find the "Application Settings" function. Various options can be activated here. Among other things, you can change the language of the software here or specify whether the Speedup software should be started together with the computer.
- The "Start-up Optimizer" lists all the autostart programs and evaluates them. You can read here whether the program has to remain in autostart or, if not, how much it slows down the speed of your PC. You can only make changes here with the paid Avira version.
