According to the botany definition, fruit includes fruits and seeds that meet a certain condition.

• The fruits must come from the flowers of perennials. Since this is the case with the avocado, the healthy fruit counts as fruit.
• Botany, on the other hand, includes all edible parts of plants as vegetables, provided the plant only produces them once in its life.
• By definition, edible plants that are not perennial are vegetables. For this reason, tomatoes are also included.
