In order to create a backup under Windows 7, you don't necessarily need an additional program - especially not a fee-based one. Here you can find out how to backup your system using the existing means.
Create backup directly under Windows 7
- Click the start button at the bottom left.
- Enter "backup" in the search line and select the search result "backup and restore".
- Click on "Set up backup" on the right and confirm the security question with "Yes".
- You now have the choice of saving the backup on another partition, hard drive or CD / DVD. Select one of these options and click "Next".
- You can now decide whether Windows should perform a standard backup or whether you want to configure it yourself (see picture). If you only want to back up a few files and folders, you should configure the backup yourself. Decide on one of the two variants and click on "Next".
- If you have selected the second point, you can still select or deselect individual folders. Then click Next".
- Now you see again the selection of all the folders that will be included in the backup. You can still set how often these files are to be backed up by clicking on the blue link "Change schedule". Depending on your wishes, you can switch off the automatic backup here completely or configure it according to the time and rhythm.
- When you click "Save settings and run backup", Windows starts to back up the files.
