Backups in Banana Pi - how it works
To back up your Banana Pi, you can simply back up the entire SD card. We show you the exact procedure in these instructions.
Create Banana Pi Backup on Windows
- First download the free tool "Win32 Disk Imager".
- Install the program and then open it.
- Now select a path as "Image File". The backup is saved there. The path must end with an IMG file. For example "C: \ Banana \ Backup.img".
- Select the SD card of your Banana Pi as the device.
- Now click on "Read" and the backup will be created.
Create Banana Pi Backup on MacOS / Linux
- Open the terminal or the command prompt.
- To find the path of the SD card, execute the "discussil list" command.
- Now change to the desired storage location with the "cd" command.
- Now you can create the backup with the command "sudo dd if = / dev / disk1 of = backup.img bs = 1M". Here you have to replace "/ dev / disk1" with the path to your SD card.
- If you get an error message, the command "sudo dd if = / dev / disk1 of = backup.img bs = 1m" should work. Again, you have to adjust the path to your SD card first.
