For party holidaymakers, new rules apply to the Ballermann from the 2019 season. There is an absolute ban on alcohol on the streets of Playa de Palma. What punishments are in store and what you should also avoid.
Mallorca 2019: what rules apply on the party mile?
From April, new rules of conduct around Schinkenstraße will apply. More precisely, the entire party location becomes the "Zona d'Especial Interès Turístic" (German: an area of particular tourist interest). This should significantly reduce alcohol excess.
- Whether vodka, schnapps or tequila, the party mood increases with a short one. But it will have disappeared from the shop windows, as alcohol-related advertising will be completely prohibited from April.
- Even bargains are no longer so easy. If you want drinks at dumping prices in the "happy hour", you have to actively look for them.
- Once the alcohol has been properly auctioned in the beer tent, it must not be taken onto the street. The new fence around the beer gardens shows the limit here.
- So rather celebrate indoors, then nothing can happen. But beware! Entering a public building and therefore also the pubs such as the "Bierkönig" and "Bamboleo" with a naked torso is prohibited.
- In addition, the ban on noise through amplified music systems ensures more quiet.
Up to 3000 € penalty: The rule violation becomes expensive
You are warned first of all in the event of disturbance of the peace, punishable alcohol consumption and attempting to enter nakedly. The following antisocial behavior can result in fines of up to 3000 euros:
- Public urination or wild peeing.
- Anyone who has caught too much alcohol and empties his stomach in public is also asked to checkout.
- Police officers pay special attention to the common good. If other vacationers are harassed, the offense will be sanctioned immediately.
New rules promise more security and fewer alcohol corpses
Thanks to the new rules of conduct, tourists feel more comfortable, which will also have a positive impact on the turnover figures of the hotels. "The vast majority of tourists here are not there to drink, but most tourists just want to have fun, " agrees Biel Barceló, head of the Playa de Palma neighborhood association.
Unteachable Ballermann fans will not have the excessive partying completely prohibited by the new rules. With our tips against the hangover, the next day it says again: "Malle is only once a year."
