Gang advertising in football on TV: why is it always German? That is behind it
If a football game is broadcast on German television, the gang advertising is always German, even if it is played against an international opponent and the match takes place abroad - at least it seems so to German viewers. In this article we explain why this is so.
Gang advertising in football: one side German, the other not
No matter who it is against and where it is played, the gang advertising at football matches on German television is always German. There is no magic behind it, but a simple explanation:
- According to the DFB, so-called double productions are created for football games with teams of different nationalities. Different gang advertisements are displayed on both long sides of the field: on one side the German advertisements, on the other side those of the other nation.
- The pictures for German television are only created from one long side of the stadium, so that only the gangs on which German advertising is shown can be seen.
- The pictures for the nation of the opposing team are taken from the opposite side, so that only the corresponding gang advertising can be seen.
- The gangs behind the gates each show half of the advertising of one or the other nation.
- If you look closely at the next international football game, you will always catch a glimpse of foreign advertising; for example, if the coach bench or goal is filmed from the front.
