Bass tuning with the cell phone: Guitar Tuna
Your cell phone has probably replaced almost every other device in your life in recent years - and it also helps in music. There are enough apps that allow you to tune your bass. One of them is "Guitar Tuna", which supports bass and other stringed instruments.
- Download the app from the Play Store or the AppStore.
- When you start the app, you must first grant access to the microphone.
- At the end of the setup you can choose your desired instrument. Tap on "Bass" here.
- You will then be taken to the app, where you can get started straight away, just like with a conventional tuner.
- Strike the first string and the app detects the frequency. If it is too low, this will be shown above the instrument in the app and you can tune the string very precisely.
- In addition to the app's voice function, other features are also included. There is also the option of unlocking additional functions with an in-app purchase.
- Please note that when tuning an electric bass you cannot connect your bass directly to the cell phone. An amplifier is probably necessary for the app to recognize the sound.
Fine Bass Tuner: Tuner without frills
If the "Guitar Tuna" app is too confusing for you and offers more functions than you need, then "Fine Bass Tuner" is the right choice for you.
- Download the app on your Android or iOS device.
- There is only one view in the app, with which you can tune your instrument directly.
- The app is free for Android, but with advertising. On iOS it costs 2.29 euros.
