Battlefield 2: unlock weapons
In Battlefield 2 you can unlock numerous weapons in the course of the game. These unlocks are actually only intended for multiplayer, but we will tell you how you can also solo the heavy guns.
Solo only: Don't cheat in multiplayer
First a warning: In order to use the new weapons in single player mode, you have to change a game file slightly. The game recognizes this as a cheat attempt and no longer lets you play in multiplayer battles. Therefore, copy all the files that you will change in the following steps so that you can exchange them quickly if you want to plunge into online battles.
So you can play Battlefield 2 solo with all weapons
To unlock all weapons for single player mode, it only takes a few simple steps. However, since something can go wrong quickly, do not forget to save files before you change them.
- Find your Battlefield 2 installation directory and then the \ python \ bf2 \ stats subfolder.
- Back up the "unlocks.py" file by making a copy of it.
- Open the file with a text editor and find the line "defaultUnlocks = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]". Depending on the extensions installed, the line can also be longer: "defaultUnlocks = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]"
- Every 0 is a placeholder for an unlocked weapon. Put a 1 in their place to unlock the weapons. In the file, "defaultUnlocks = [1, 1,, 1 1,, 1 1, 1]" or "defaultUnlocks = [1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1] ".
- Save the file and enjoy the extended weapon selection.
All weapons in multiplayer
Unlock weapons in multiplayer by advancing ranks. You have to collect points on ranked servers - you can recognize them by a special rank symbol. As soon as you have climbed two levels, you can select a first weapon and unlock it - the same goes for the higher ranks. Unfortunately there is no shortcut here.
