Battlefield 4: the 5 best pioneer tips
In Battlefield 4, the pioneer is particularly important in the fight against vehicles. We give you tips on how to bring each tank to a standstill.
Battlefield 4: the best primary weapons for the pioneer
The pioneer is the only one who can use the "PDWs", but the carabiners are often the better choice.
- The "PDWs" have a very high rate of fire, but are very imprecise and therefore only very effective in close combat. In the distance, however, the spread is too high, so you should choose a different weapon for long distances.
- As a pioneer you are most likely to be used on cards with vehicles, carabiners are the better choice: on vehicle cards you usually fight at long distances.
- The "AK 5C" is a good all-round weapon among carabiners and also suitable for beginners.
- However, if you mainly play in vehicles, the "PDWs" can be useful: This is how you can take out soldiers at close range after disembarking.
The bazookas in Battlefield 4
The heart of the fight against the vehicles is the bazookas, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
- For short distances, use the "RPG-7". This weapon has the highest damage values, but a slow flight speed.
- The "SMAW" has a faster airspeed, but does less damage. At medium range, this weapon is a good choice for you.
- Both the "RPG-7" and the "SMAW" are unguided bazookas. After firing, fly straight towards the target with a slight curvature.
- The "SRAW", however, is a guided bazooka. After firing, you have to fix your target with the target optics in order to steer it to the target. It is therefore the best bazooka in long-range combat, since you can also use it to hit moving targets.
Switch off vehicles with the pioneer
As a pioneer, you are ideally equipped to ward off vehicles. With a few tips, you can destroy any vehicle.
- Approach the vehicle. Watch it on the minimap and try to stay hidden.
- Vehicles do the most damage from behind, while you do the least damage from the front. Shoot the vehicle from behind if possible.
- With unguided rockets, it is important to take cover immediately after the launch. You can see whether you have scored on the "hit markers".
- After the first shot, look for another position for the next one, because the driver usually knows where the first shot came from.
Laying mines as a pioneer
Mines can destroy vehicles even without a direct attack.
- The "M14 AT Mine" is the classic type of mine. They are placed on the ground and go up as soon as a vehicle drives over them.
- The "M2 SLAM", however, can also be placed vertically. These explode as soon as a vehicle approaches.
- If you place the mines on the ground, you must place them across the road, as this is the only way they will explode at the same time.
- With three mines next to each other, you destroy each vehicle as long as they are not too far apart.
- Ideally, place the leads on dark surfaces, for example in the shade. This makes it harder for the driver to recognize them.
Battlefield 4: Repair vehicles correctly
Repair with the welding torch is also your responsibility.
- If you are driving or driving a vehicle, you should always have the welding torch with you.
- However, the welding torch can overheat when used. To prevent this, always take short breaks when repairing.
- As a passenger, you should always get out after enemy fire to repair the vehicle. Make sure that you stand on the side facing away from the opponent.
- As a driver, only get out to repair if there is no opponent nearby. Otherwise, he can take over your vehicle.
