Battlefield 4: Show FPS - how it works
If you always want to keep an eye on the frame rate of Battlefield 4, you can always display the FPS at the top right of the screen. We'll show you how it's done.
Instructions: Show FPS in Battlefield 4
- Start Battlefield 4 and press the [^] key on the top left of your keyboard.
- Enter the command "PerfOverlay.drawfps 1" and confirm with the [Enter] key.
- Now the FPS is displayed in the top right. The setting will disappear the next time you start Battlefield 4.
- If you want to end the display beforehand, use the "PerfOverlay.drawfps 0" command.
Battlefield 4: Show FPS permanently
If you want to display the FPS permanently in Battlefield 4, this is also possible. All you have to do is make a small change from the outside.
- First open the Battlefield 4 file path. This is usually located at "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Origin Games \ Battlefield 4"
- Right-click on an empty area in the folder and select the "Text document" under "New".
- Rename the file to "user.cfg". If the file extension cannot be changed, we will help you in this practical tip.
- Right-click to open the file with the editor and save the text "PerfOverlay.drawfps 1".
- If you start Battlefield 4, the FPS will be displayed permanently.
