Clean the projector filter - so it'll work
A rule of thumb is that the projector filter must be cleaned after approximately 100 hours of use. In this practical tip, we will tell you how to increase the service life of your projector by regular cleaning.
How to clean projector filters properly
Before starting work, disconnect the projector from the electrical outlet. If you have just used the projector, be sure to wait until the device has cooled down before cleaning the filter.
- First of all, you should prepare long matches, chopsticks or the like. Then carefully insert these between the fan so that it does not move wildly back and forth and may be damaged.
- One way to remove dust from the home entertainment filter is with compressed air. Compressed air spray is relatively cheap, from around 3 euros.
- Together with a vacuum cleaner, which is set to the smallest level, you can suck in the dirt that you blow out with the compressed air spray on one side and the other side. This will prevent you from using the compressed air spray to not only distribute the dust further in the projector.
- If you have a compressor, you can of course also use that instead of the compressed air spray.
- However, the most efficient method of filter cleaning is cleaning with water. To do this, carefully remove the filter from the cover and then clean it with lukewarm water - and only with water, without any cleaning agents. Do not put the filter back in the projector until it is completely dry.
