Pay by direct debit on Steam: This trick works
In order to purchase direct debit computer games via Steam, you must have a PayPal account. What may seem cumbersome at first glance is only for your safety. This way, Steam won't find out your account details or your credit card number. In this article, we show how the payment process on Steam works.
Steam: Pay securely via PayPal direct debit

- If you want to use the direct debit procedure for your purchases with PayPal, you have to link your PayPal account to your bank account. For your security, PayPal requires confirmation of your bank details. To do this, you need to verify your PayPal bank account.
- If you have selected a game on Steam, you will be offered various payment methods.
- If you choose PayPal, you will be redirected to the PayPal website and have to log in.
- Now confirm the purchase amount and the bank account, PayPal debits the purchase price from your account and transfers the money to Steam.
Tip: Pay securely on Steam with PaySafe Card
Alternatively, you can top up your PayPal account with a PaySafe Card. You can get them at most petrol stations, kiosks and in numerous other shops. On Steam you have to select "PayPal" as the payment method as described above.
