Do not disturb while driving ": This is how the feature works
Under iOS 11 you can use the "Do not disturb while driving" function for the first time, which only tells you the most important messages while driving. We'll show you exactly how the feature works.
New iPhone function: do not disturb while driving
- In the "Settings" app under iOS 11 you will find the new category "Do not disturb while driving". Here you can activate the function manually if required and make numerous settings.
- The primary aim of the new function is to protect against distraction in road traffic. If the mode is activated and you receive a message via iMessage, a reply will be sent automatically, which indicates your absence. If a contact answers the message "urgently", it will still be allowed through.
- If you connect your iPhone via Bluetooth to the hands-free system or via USB to CarPlay, calls will of course still be allowed through. If you get out of the car, you can deactivate the "Do not disturb while driving" mode directly on the lock screen.
- You can also start the mode automatically in the settings if required. As soon as you move very quickly, the iPhone notices that you are driving and activates the function. If you are only a passenger, you can simply switch the option off again.
