Add users on Ubuntu - Here's how
If you would like to add a user to Ubuntu, we will show you how this works here.
Ubuntu: Add new user
Open the system settings in Ubuntu via the small gear in the top right.
- Under "System"> "User" you will find all the necessary settings.
- Use the small plus and minus at the bottom left to add or remove users.
- If you have set a password, you have to click on the unlock symbol at the top right on "Unlock" and enter your password. Confirm with "Enter".
- Clicking the plus opens a window with the heading "Create a new account".
- Now define the name, user name and account types. Confirm again with the Enter key - you have now added the user.
- Then lock the surface again by clicking on "Lock".
The information refers to Ubuntu 12.04 - other distributions and versions differ slightly from the description. If you want more space to work under Ubuntu, another practical tip explains how to change the work surface under Ubuntu.
