User account control can be really annoying. Fortunately, you can deactivate it in the registry. This practical tip explains exactly how this works.
Turn off annoying user account control popups in the registry
Only a few minor changes are necessary to prevent the security issues. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also back up the registry beforehand.
- Press WINDOWS + "R" and write "regedit" in the line, then confirm with Enter. Now the Windows registry opens.
- Click through the tree structure on the left using this path: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System"
- Now right-click in the right field and select "New" -> "DWORD value". Name this "EnableLUA" and assign it the value "0" (without quotes).
- Now create another DWORD value at the same location with the name "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin" and the value "0". If the entries already exist, simply assign the value to both.
If you prefer not to change any values in the registry, you can also set the UAC (User Account Control) in the control panel to "never notify". You can find out how to do this here.
