Windows user account control can also be switched off for individual programs, not just for the entire system. This allows you to unlock the tools you use every day, but in return you don't have to do without the security feature because you don't have to disable it entirely.

You can authorize programs permanently - Windows then does not display the system message when it starts. To do this, use the "Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit". Vista and Windows 7 also require approval when applications such as tuning tools, developer tools, registry editors, security programs or even some games require higher rights or want to access system resources.
- After installation, open "All Programs | Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit", right-click on "Compatibility Administrator" and start the context command "Run as administrator". You confirm the user account control by clicking on "Continue".
How to turn off User Account Control for individual programs
- Right-click on "New Database (1) [Untitled_1]" in the structure and select the context command "Create New | Application Fix". In the following dialog enter a name for the program to be adapted and click on "Browse". Then navigate to the program file, mark it and click on "Open".
- When selecting the operating system, select "None" and "Next". Now activate the "RunAsInvoker" option in the "Compatiblity Fixes" list. By doing this, you determine that the specified program will be executed with the rights of the higher-level object without asking. Click on Continue".
- The following dialog defines additional criteria for identifying the program so that malware, for example, cannot take its place. Leave the default settings here and click on "Finish".
- Using the previous procedure, you have created a user database that defines the behavior of Windows when selected programs are started. Now you have to save and activate it. Use the "File | Save As" dialog to specify the storage location and file name of the SDB database, for example "Secure_Programs.sdb" in the Windows folder.
- Finally, activate it. To do this, close the toolkit, start a command prompt as administrator, type in the command sdbinst C: \ Windows \ Sichere_Programme.sdb and press [Enter]. If you now start the authorized applications as an administrator by right-clicking on their program icon, no further security dialogs will appear.
