Remove bed surf - how it works
You should quickly remove the "Bettersurf" virus from your system. You can find out how to do this and what you need for this in this practical tip
1. Remove the software from Windows 8
In order to prevent your browser from being infected, you should first delete "Bettersurf" from your system:
- Open the Windows 8 Control Panel and click on "Uninstall a program".
- Look for the entries "SimpleLyrics", "Browse2Save" or "WebCake 3.00". Sort the programs according to the installation date and remove any malware found.
- Click on the individual entries and then on "Uninstall a program".
Beware of untrustworthy third-party deletion tools
Deletion programs help you to remove the remaining traces of such adware. Avoid downloading dubious third-party providers because they often contain additional viruses. Here you will find a virus-free download of the AdwCleaner software, which completely frees your system from "Bettersurf".
Remove the unwanted advertisement from Mozilla Firefox
In the Mozilla browser, you have to remove the malware in the settings for add-ons:
- At the top left you will find the "Firefox" button. If you clicked on it, a menu opens.
- There you will find "Add-Ons"> "Extensions".
- Again, you should delete all entries that are unknown to you. Especially entries like DownloadTerms 1.0 or Plus-HD 1.3 should be removed immediately. It is safest to reset your browser.
Delete the malware from your Internet Explorer
The "Bettersurf" adware is also quickly deleted from your Internet Explorer:
- With a click on the gear symbol in the top right corner of Internet Explorer you can click on the menu item "Manage add-ons".
- In the new window click on "Toolbars and Extensions".
- You should now search for unknown entries. Well-known entries from "Bettersurf" are for example "Webcake 3.00", "LyricsWoofer" or "Simple Lyrics". In principle, deactivate all add-ons that you do not know. The safest thing is to reset your IE.
Delete the adware "Bettersurf" from Google Chrome
You can also delete the unwanted software from Google Chrome in just a few steps:
- In the top right corner of the Google Chrome browser, click on the symbol with the three dashes. Move the mouse over the item "Tools" and then click on "Extensions".
- Click on "Add-ons" and delete all unknown entries by clicking on the trash.
- If you find the add-ons "Allyrics", "Feven 1.7" or "Browse2Save", you should remove them immediately. You should also reset your browser.
