Application: This is the right font
Windows has hundreds of fonts, some of which differ little. In this article, we reveal which you can use to score points with an application and which fonts you shouldn't use.
Apply successfully: The right font
HR personnel often have a large stack of applications in front of them and therefore have to quickly read the cover letter and CV. The most important thing is therefore a legible font:
- Fonts with serifs such as Times New Roman or Georgia are particularly popular here. These two fonts are particularly suitable for longer body texts - such as in the cover letter.
- If you want to vary something, you can use legible fonts without serifs such as Arial or Verdana for short texts and headings.
- Under no circumstances should you use ornate or heavily decorated fonts. This may look nice on greeting cards, but these fonts have no place in applications.
- Also make sure to make your application uniform: use only one or a maximum of two fonts in all of your documents.
- So that you no longer have to worry about the formalities, we have provided a sophisticated cover letter template for you to download free of charge. Another article will show you where you can get Word templates for your resume.
