Paying with ClickandBuy - is it safe?
ClickandBuy is an online payment system for online shopping. In this practical tip, we clarify how secure ClickandBuy is.
Update: Telekom closes ClickandBuy
- Telekom closed its ClickandBuy online payment service at the end of April 2016. Customers have to switch to alternatives such as PayPal.
- As a ClickandBuy user, you have no longer been able to access any credit since April 30. Anyone who still has remaining credit on their ClickandBuy account must hope for goodwill from customer service.
ClickandBuy: Is it safe to pay?
The ClickandBuy payment system works similarly to the well-known PayPal system. It means "click and pay".
- Users have to register once and can then pay in different online shops with a user name and password.
- The invoices are paid monthly by credit card, direct debit, invoice, prepayment or using other methods such as GiroPay.
- ClickandBuy does not use any additional security systems such as SMS codes or security keys. Therefore, you should make sure that your password cannot be spied on by anyone. Do not save it in your browser.
- Pishing sites that look similar to the ClickandBuy site pose a security risk. You should therefore always make sure that you are on the real page before entering your data.
- As long as you use a secure password and always make sure that you are on the real site, ClickandBuy is a relatively secure online payment system. One hundred percent safe, however, you are almost nowhere.
