The Irish Stout is a strong beer, but it still contains less alcohol than German beers. A stout is characterized by its dark color with a cream-colored or white crown and a bitter taste.
- Another beer is the " Beamish ", it is brewed in the Beamish and Crawford Brewery. This beer is also a strong beer, but has a stronger taste than other Irish strong beers.
- Smithwicks, also known as Kilkenny Irish Beer, has a very bitter taste. In the past, this beer was brewed in a monastery, after which it moved to St. Francis Abby-Brewery in the city of Kilkenny. That is why it was originally called Smithwicks. Another popular beer from this brewery is the Irish Red Ale . An ale is a top-fermented dark or light beer.
