If you would like to pixelate individual areas or entire images with GIMP, you can use a specially developed function. We'll show you where to find them.
Pixelate images with GIMP
- Start GIMP and open the desired picture. If you only want to pixelate a certain part, you must first select it with the lasso, the square or the ellipse.
- Click on the image on the right so that the context menu opens.
- Now move the mouse over the "Filter" entry.
- Another small menu opens in which you move the mouse over the "Soft focus" item.
- Then select the "Pixelize" item.
- Simply set the pixel value using the up arrow and you can see in the preview how the image changes. When the desired effect has occurred, click on "OK".
